ATB Financial is Alberta's largest home-grown financial institution. Founded in 1938 to help Albertans navigate difficult economic times, it is a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Province of Alberta and operates with a public service mandate. Its activities are confined to Alberta, where it is headquartered; it is the largest financial institution headquartered in Western Canada and the largest public bank in North America.

ATB serves nearly 855,000 clients and manages $115 billion in assets, supported by more than 5,400 team members. The business spans personal and business banking, ATB Wealth Management, and ATB Cormark Capital Markets, which provides capital markets and investment banking solutions. Corporate banking is a further area of activity.

The organisation has been recognised by Great Place to Work Canada as one of Canada's top employers, with awards covering mental wellness, inclusion and community giving. Work is based in Alberta.
